NYS Burn Ban - March 16th - May 14th

Open burning is the single greatest cause of wildfires in NYS. Warmer, windy, and dry conditions in early spring make it easy for fires to start and spread.

The burning of brush is prohibited from March 16 through May 14 due to the increased risk of wildfires. (Small, contained campfires/fire pits for cooking or pleasure, less than 3 feet high and 4 feet wide, are still allowed during this time).
